COOPER CRONK says he tries not to get involved in team selection calls or interfere with his coach’s decisions — at club or state level.

With speculation rife over who will wear the Queensland No. 6 jumper at Suncorp Stadium next week, Cronk told NRL 360 he won’t be offering his two cents to coach Kevin Walters.

Cronk wouldn’t be drawn into revealing whether Michael Morgan or Cameron Munster will play five-eighth for the Maroons in the Origin decider.

“Personally I don’t like to have too much of an input,” Cronk said.

“Kevvy and other coaches have sort of asked me, even Craig (Bellamy) asks questions at Melbourne Storm, and my personal position is to take a back seat on things like that.

“There’s other players that do have an opinion.”

Cronk’s revelation comes amid talk he and fellow Melbourne veterans Cameron Smith and Billy Slater — along with Johnathan Thurston and possibly others — will influence Walters’ decision on the five-eighth position for Origin III.
