Mothers Day Multicultural Magic: WIN a Return Trip to Taipei

The Mother’s Day Multicultural Festival is set for 13th May, 10 am to 3 pm at the Broadwater Parkland on Marine Parade, Southport

THE BROADWATER Parklands at Southport will be the epicentre for Mother’s Day celebrations this Saturday, May 13. 

In the first event of its kind, Gold Coast Indonesian non-profit dance and cultural organisation, Seharum Nusantara, is holding the Gold Coast’s first Mother’s Day Multicultural Festival.

The day kicks off at 10 am with an entertaining variety of activities that will run right through until 3pm

  • Massage, eyebrows threading, henna
  • Sand art, crafty for kids
  • Land train
  • Jumping castle
  • FREE face panting
  • Children playground/activities – free
  • Dance workshops
  • Taichi/Falun gong workshops

Seharum Nusantara spokesperson Thia Taylor said the entertainment for the day is like nothing before seen on the Gold Coast.

“We’ve put together an amazing list of entertainment. This line-up is awesome – from the French can-can to the Showbiz Circus; from Balinese Gamelan to Irish jigs,” she said.

Free face painting will be a most popular attraction at the Mothers Day Multicultural Festival

Entertainment for the day will include:

  • Balinese gamelan and dance
  • Korean community – dance
  • Thailand community – dance
  • Japanese dance/drum – Kizuna Gold Coast
  • Gold Coast Salsa Tumbao Latino
  • Passada School of Afro latin dance
  • Gabriel Out Orchestra – Bongos group Byron bay
  • Dangdut – Dewi Elhakim
  • Seharum Nusantara – dance
  • Sheherazade Belly dance
  • French Festival – can-can dance & musketeers dance
  • Modern Jive – MYB
  • Showbiz Express – Circus
  • Shanti Yoga – Bollywood dance
  • Gold Coast Irish Club – dance

“There will also be a giant raffle, with the first prize being a Brisbane-Taipei-Brisbane return airfare with Eva Air.”
